The Partnership for Work & Healthcare is fighting to allow Florida’s citizens with disabilities to work for a competitive income and keep their necessary healthcare services. Congress showed an effort in promoting equal opportunities for persons with disabilities by passing the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Act, giving individual states the option to allow competitively employed individuals with disabilities to “buy in” to their state Medicaid program. Florida must join the other 39 states who have adopted a Medicaid buy in option to provide Florida's disabled the freedom to support themselves while receiving the healthcare they need to live and work.
